Beatitudes - Dec. 9

The greatest blessings aren't those of getting but those of becoming. Seriously. Who we become, the relationships we develop, and the knowledge we gain are the only three things that we can take with us in the next life.

Tonight we read:

3 Yea, blessed are the apoor in spirit who bcome unto me, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 And again, blessed are all they that amourn, for they shall be bcomforted.
5 And blessed are the ameek, for they shall inherit the bearth.
6 And blessed are all they who do ahunger and bthirst after crighteousness, for they shall be dfilled with the Holy Ghost.
7 And blessed are the amerciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
8 And blessed are all the apure in heart, for they shall bsee God.
9 And blessed are all the apeacemakers, for they shall be called the bchildren of God.

Tonight we talked about the challenge to foster peace in our family. What it means to be more loving and kind, patient and understanding.

We talked about how we have become better people this past year. Ryan's list - he has been learning to not interrupt and how to be a better friend. He also mentioned that the responsibility of the priesthood has changed him this past year. I would agree.

My list - I feel stronger spiritually. I am definitely more empathetic of others and less judgmental. I feel more experienced, weathered, wiser, quieter if that makes any sense.

We have a Christmas Journal - a book that we all write in on Christmas day. This year we are recording who we have become this past year, set a goal for the coming year, and compare next year.

We ended the evening with an impromptu round of Christmas carols and hot chocolate.

Merry Christmas you wonderful people!!!!
