I really like this oatmeal recipe so I thought I would share:
1 c. Apple Juice
1 c. Water
1 tsp. cinnamon
Mix together, bring to boil & then add:
1 c. Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
Stir together, cover & turn off burner. Let set for 5 mins. Then stir in:
2-3 Tbsp. loose brown sugar (not packed.)
I make this on Monday & eat about 1/3 c. each day of the week.
Enjoy!

Sounds Delicious!
My Mom's family always made hot cereal with milk/sugar/cinnamon etc.
My Dad's family ate morning hot cereal with butter & salt, Polenta style.
My current favorite is:
1/4 cup of oat bran
2/3 -1 cup water
sprinkle granulated garlic to taste
1/2 t. oregano
microwave for 90 seconds
stir in 1 t. butter
stir again, eat & enjoy.
I find the savory flavors to be very satisfying & a great variation.
I think the kids will love this. Thanks for sharing.
Jewels- Yum! Sounds great. Can't wait to try it. I have been on a granola kick (church granola at that. I added pecans). The apple juice sounds like a great addition.
Sandi- Wow! I never would have thought to do that to cereal! What a great way to change things up. I will have to give it a try.
